Southern Daily News (Reporter/Yao Chong) Recently, the latest achievement of the China Electronics Society's robotics industry research, the 2017 China Robotics Industry Development Report, was released. The report points out that it is expected that the size of China's robot market will reach 6.28 billion US dollars in 2017, and China's industrial robot market has become the world's largest industrial robot application market. It is expected that the sales of industrial robots in China will exceed 110000 units for the first time in 2017, with a market size of 4.22 billion US dollars. By 2020, the domestic market size will further expand to 5.89 billion US dollars.

The report points out that since 2012, the market for industrial robots has been growing rapidly at an average annual rate of 15.2%, with impressive performance in Asia. In 2016, global industrial robot sales exceeded 13.2 billion US dollars for the first time, with sales in Asia reaching 7.6 billion US dollars, sales in Europe reaching 2.64 billion US dollars, and sales in North America reaching 1.79 billion US dollars. The total sales of major countries such as China, South Korea, Japan, the United States, and Germany account for three-quarters of global sales. Among them, the Chinese industrial robot market is developing rapidly, accounting for about one-third of the global market share, and is the world's largest industrial robot application market.
